Peppe --

I certainly won't argue with any one report, but if you take all the different research reports together, what's clear is that Newbridge, Ascend, and Cisco are ATM leaders. Each puts them in different order.

What may not be as clear is that some vendors are disappointing their carriers, putting their contracts in jeopardy.

If you base your investing decisions on 1998 data, you may be misled. Right now, in mid-99, NN and TeraBridge solutions are storming the market, a fact that will become evident in the next few weeks and months.

While others are scrambling to buy start-ups to gain technology, NN has a family of affiliates developing solutions fully integrated with their own products. Every time I attend another conference, I find out more about these companies and consequently I have the boat loaded to the gunwales.
