OK, today I've had the worst executions ever with Datek. I'm trading MSFT - no matter what price I put in, at the inside quote, 1/8 better than inside - no execution. Then the final straw - market order does not execute for minutes on end - in MSFT!!!!! Now I'm really concerned. If even executions are getting THIS bad with Datek, I'm not sure I can trade with this broker. There is simply no excuse for market orders not to execute in such a liquid stock. I actually cancelled my market order after it didn't execute for some 3 minutes. It did cancel. I tried again later - and it took well over a minute - finally executed (naturally at the very worst price - but what can you do when they simply REFUSE to execute you?). This is a disaster. EDIT: I just spoke with a Datek rep. He claims no shares available at ISLD - I have LII and the ISLD book open, and I see shares, but maybe my order is behind others. So they Snet it out. He claims the MM has 3 minutes in which he can hold my order. It is my understanding he has 90 seconds at most. Whatever. This sucks.
