I agree it is a terrible situation in Colo.
You know I had a fascination with the Hells Angels when I was a teen. (back when they were really hells angels) but I did not kill anyone or do the things they did.
If anyone is surprised or throws up their hands and says "Oh my what can we do" then IMO they are living with blinders on. You could see this type of behavior coming for years, and we choose to ignore it.
As I said on another thread, as long as we adults continue to ignore morality, respect, agape love, the sanctity of life, AND our children, then we can expect more of same in the future.
As long as we place our values on "superstars, and supermodels, and superjobs, and on and on, what do we expect?
As long as newscasters are "sensationalists" , there will always be someone to want to be "their" story.
We feel no shame in open sex. We feel no shame in open killing of babies, we feel no shame in "wagging the dog" , we feel no shame in cheating on taxes, we feel no shame in stealing from our neighbor, (including his wife and/or her husband,) we feel no shame in trading natural affection for unnatural, we feel no shame in sending our kids to Cancun for a week partying during spring break, we feel no shame that "Springer" is a household word, we preach "only You Lord" on Sunday's and live "only me" on Mondays.I could go on and on here.
We have no community any more. We manicure our lawns(the moats of modern day) and dare anyone to step on them. We jump in the car hit the garage door button and zip out, and when we get back we hit the button and zip in and close the door, never seeing our neighbor. We use automatic sprinklers so we will not have to stand in the yard and water(for fear we might actually have to speak to a neighbor) . Put fences all around the yard so we can have our privacy, all the while listening to the incessant dog barking going on all hours cause the poor dogs can't see what is on the other side of the fence. (In my case it is the honking, cause instead of dogs my neighbor has geese) Usually the first we know of a neighbors relative dying is when there are cars parked all over ""our space"" and we go to see why.
No Mark, I just don't understand how our children can do this sort of thing.
Shall I continue?
