If I may just have a moment of your time.... The question raised is why? The post asked why the media has to hype events such as this. The real question of why is: why did they do it? Why did it happen? I live in Aurora CO and work in Englewood, not that far from where this happened. I had to go home to an 11 year old son who kept asking my WHY? And is it safe to go back to school tomorrow? I didn't know what to tell him. A close member of my working staff lives in Littleton and has a child enrolled at Columbine. That man went through living hell yesterday (yes, his child was OK). And for what? Why? Some reports have stated the gunmen were out for revenge. Some have said they were paying back for having been mistreated the year before. Paying with children's lives. We here in the Denver area are trying to make some sense of this. But it is hard right now. Very hard.
