GOOD MORNING TROOPS! The VLAD is a bit slow in leading his troops this morning (too much Ronrico last night). The VLAD has some advise for all following this thread: First for the shorts: PLEASE DO NOT COVER! Especially if you shorted any of the millions of shares shorted from 6 down to 5 1/16 last Friday. Us poor Vivus long peons need a good source of capital for 1999. In other words we want you to pay back the money you stole from us in 1998--WITH INTEREST! Scope buddy are you out there tough guy? No covering that 5000 shares that you supposedly sold short at 5 3/4 until Thursday morning. Now for the longs: The VLAD certainly can not predict the stock price since it is highly influenced by short sellers. But their time is running out. Be patient. You have waited this long (some of you 2 years) and your patience WILL pay off. If we are lucky, Leland will do something out of the ordinary and deliver a half way decent conference call. Our CFO has done a superb job in turning around Vivus on the financial end and I am impressed with the R&D progress Vivus has made over the past 12 months. Good luck.
