Someone help me! I'm losing patience...

I've been an Apple shareholder for the past 8 years, and for many years in the '80's. I owned this stock before the Lisa came out, let alone the Mac. I held it through the low of $12/share, and rode it up to $47 this past year.

Another good earnings report, and the stock is down about 3 since then. I bought a little QCOM last week (too little...), they had a great earnings report, and the stock is up about 40 points today.

The street doesn't like AAPL. THey have had 6 straight profitable quarters, and the street still doesn't believe they can sustain any growth. And when they do show that they can sustain it, the street seems to respond, "So what", with questions about whether it can be sustained next year. Or the next.

I don't know how many times I've thought about selling and putting the money into a company that the street DOES like. If I had done it six months ago, and put the money in Intel, or Cisco, or AOL, it would be worth ALOT more than it is now. I keep thinking if I sell, I'll miss the big runup. And yet I am missing the big runup...in other companies that don't have to overcome bad perceptions on the street.

To add to my chagrin, I also own CPQ (though it's made me ALOT more money than AAPL in the last 8 years).

Can someone convince this long-term holder why he shouldn't bail?

Jeff
