Rich, I am less optimistic that merging one cash hungry start up with another is feasible. Any merger creates a diversion of efforts and is not without cost. If they were the solution, we would have seen them occur by now. The problem of financing is a real problem and not easy to resolve.

Biotechs seem to think that even with problems on the financing front they can afford to delay release of trial results for months while awaiting what they consider an appropriate forum. This might seem like a minor issue but it is one of the straws that make biotech investing more of a hazard. Non disclosure of royalties paid or earned is another. With all the cost and risk of drug development why add to the unknowns?
