Global MAINTECH Plans Public Offering

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 21, 1999--Global MAINTECH Corporation (OTC-BB: GLBM - news) announced a proposed,
underwritten public offering of between $15,000,000 and $25,000,000 of its common stock.

The purposes of this offering are to raise working capital for MAINTECH, to retire debt that was primarily incurred in connection with recent acquisitions and for other general corporate
purposes. The offering will be made only by means of a prospectus following the filing of a registration statement under the Securities Act of 1933 with the Securities and Exchange
Commission. MAINTECH anticipates that the registration statement will be filed in June, 1999.

MAINTECH provides systems to high-growth sectors of data centers. The focal point of MAINTECH's suite of products for data centers is its Virtual Command Center (VCC). The VCC
is a master console that provides a single point-of-control for mainframe, midrange, UNIX, Microsoft NT and network devices. It can provide efficient consolidation of consoles for
delivery of software provided by other companies in the enterprise management market. MAINTECH also provides storage tape libraries under the name Breece Hill, event notification
and enterprise consulting under the name SinglePoint, and network and systems correlation and root-cause-analysis software under the name Magnum.
