The $550 Million was the purchase price.

It is reflected in the DILUTED earnings per share - due to the increased number of shares. Of course, NSM's LOSSES are what have been diluted.

And NO - the money was NOT pulled out of THIN AIR. It came right out of NSM shareholder's pockets.
