Stockbull, I actually think that is the reason. They were stunned, at least the less clever ones, by CPQ's incompetence. IMO CPQ added fuel to the "seasonal slow down cum PC slowdown" stuff that's been floating around since last quarter. They are nervous about the sector and don't want to stand the downside risk if their fears are realized and IBM and DELL report anything less than stellar quarters. This is a risky time for investors in the PC sector. With risk comes reward. IMO we have invested in the very best run company in the sector and the only one capable of reacting fast enough to take advantage of those who stumble. We may suffer more downside if IBM's numbers appear "weak" to the market. However, for a longer time horizon there are few companies which will do as well as Dell. Having said that, I do think there will be a run up to May earnings but I don't think it will be a strong as those in the past. If the numbers are better than expected (which I believe they will be), we will have a nice post earning run. Dell is a big company and getting bigger but at a slower growth rate and the incredible gains of the past are simply not possible. I also believe that Dell will continue to outperform every company in the industry for a long time to come. JMHO. I enjoy your posts, they are usually <ggg> informative and well reasoned.
