Mitch,

Sure. Both Abelman and Larrimore answered regarding Qualcomm, and said that this was definitely a high priority customer for them. In fact, they said that Qualcomm was one of their "top twenty" customers and that they were allocating resources to it as a priority. I asked if they could comment regarding the specifics of the royalty deal, ie. whether it was a flat fee arrangement for handsets and chipsets like Intel, or some other arrangement. Larrimore said he was not at liberty to discuss the specifics of the deal, but like all of their design wins, this too comes with a royalty arrangement. They also mentioned their strategic relationship with Nortel on the infrastructure side, which seems to cement their committment to the entire CDMA universe. If I'm not mistaken, Nortel is a big partner of Qualcomm on the infrastructure side, having licensed the CDMA technology.

If anybody else knows anything about the specifics of the Qualcomm relationship, I'd love to hear. Like you, I believe this has the potential to become an enormous deal, depending on how integral VxWorks is in the development of Qualcomm's products.

Regards,

Jason Cogan
