The bus analogy - In another thread, one fellow used this analogy...

"Trading is riding a bus. If you get on and find that the bus is going in the wrong direction, just get off. There'll be another bus in a few minutes!"

That's what I tell myself when I start getting excited about a particular stock that is being hyped. It's just a vehicle. If you miss it, there'll be another in a few minutes. It helps me get by the "gotta get on board now" feelings generated by hype. That way I can look at it more objectively. It also allows me to ignore at least 99% of the BS.

As an example, this morning some "pumper" was pushing a stock (I think it was ETRG) in #Daytraders. Posts like "It's moving now!", "Boy look at it go!" and "Buyers on ETRG!" I decided to check it out in my charting program. You guessed it - the stock had been flat as a pancake for at least 30 minutes.

Remember, it's just a "bus". If somebody want's you on it, it's probably because it benefits them, NOT because it's a good bus.

Regards,

Dan.
