I have never seen any but would sure be interested.

from ~53$ to about 35$?

Beats me -- performance could hardly be better.

them? Anyone have any estimates or estimates of 5 year growth?

Here are current estimates but there will undoubtedly be revisions in

>>Does anyone see microsoft attempting to develop a comparable real
time OS in the future?

My understanding is that MS has some realtime operating systems
although I do not know if they are comparable to VxWorks which seems
to be the gold standard. Their focus seems to be so strong on trying
to push windows into the embedded market I would question whether
there is a realtime champion at MS who is strong enough to bring it to
commercializaton at this time. IMO Microsoft would have a hard sell
getting into any embedded applications where hard realtime with high
reliability is required -- they have a lot of history to live down.
There is no doubt that MS is one day going to get serious about the
embedded market when it gets too large to ignore but and are they
going to be too late?
