***WILLIAM BROTHERSON UPDATE***
Wednesday April 21, 1999...8:00 PM CST...Day 3 <g>
Good Evening, All!
Well, my trading day today was exceptional (for me), but I just had my day "seen and raised"! <vbg>
Denise called me a few minutes ago to update me on our Bill's status. Seems he is now realizing that he is NOT "an OLD man, after all; just a middle age man" and he is gonna be just fine! LOL
He was moved to a regular room today. He has an IV line and a pace wire (?) still in (just in case they are needed), but they aren't connected to anything. He is (only) taking Percocet for the pain, but it seems to have him pretty groggy as he insisted on talking to me, but then couldn't! LOL...I got, "I'm ready to go home" and then "let me let you talk to Denise" after the 5th "what?" from me, but that's it! Still, he sounded WON-DER-FUL!!! {{{{{{{Bill}}}}}}}
He is still on oxygen, but that is normal because of the trauma the lungs went thru during the long hours of surgery. They hope to have him off of it tomorrow. There is no pnemonia, nor any infection. (She said "yet" but I am believing that there will be none at all!!) He is using that little "puffer" thing to help keep his lungs clear.
(Hang on...it gets better!!!)
Bill got up and WALKED today! 2 days after quadruple bypass, and he is up and walking!!! "You go boy"!!!
(and better still!!!)
The doctors told them today that he "tentatively" is scheduled to come home on FRIDAY!!! "Yes"!!! I mean, from 2 weeks in the hospital to barely 5 days??? Whoa! I'd say the power of prayer, and the "hard headed stubbornness" of our beloved Bill has expedited his recovery! D says he is "ready to go home".
Denise sounded rested and wonderful...and said as much. She said they had a lot of support and the family was doing great! I reminded her to get all the rest she could, and let the nurses do all they would because when they get home...it's just her and "baby boy"! (Love you Bill!!! <gg>)
Enough of the chatter! I just wanted everyone to share in the joy I feel right now, knowing that our WB is on the road to recovery, and has the "pedal to the metal"!
I told D I'd call back tomorrow evening, and I'll update you all again then. I just bet Bill will be able to talk to me tomorrow night! Bless his little ole pea pickin, newly perfected heart! <g>
Can this day get any better???
