<<Robert, the crux of your friends argument was that the wager would be left with a reputable escrow agent. If the transaction is not legal, any contract would be unenforcable. Therefore no reputable escrow agent could be found to hold the money. Legality is therefore a significant issue.>> Agreed, but the money could be deposited with a lawyer with a document disclosing the terms of the bet and signed by both parties, dated, and notarized, if one doesn't mind paying the fees.
<<I really think your being optimistic in assuming that they'll be able to get 17 per share... The stock has not been over 12 in the last 4 years, and I think it's a real stretch to expect they'll get almost 50% more than the 48 month high.>> And for all that time, they never had a product to sell or a contract. The last time they had a contract, the stock was in the $20's. Granted there were fewer shares, but that was an exclusive, and other cellphone customers were out of the question. A reasonable size contract will put them in the mid-teens (IMHO).
<<It's more realistic to expect 8 to 10 million, and on a share base of 26 million, I call that massive dilution. Since it is likely to be junk equity, there is a significant risk that that dilution will exceed that.>> This assumes that no contract is announced. That will not be the case. <<It is you who are not credible. Bill has built credibility with me over time, by being realistic, and right a fairly impressive percentage of the time.>> Possibly, but dead wrong here.
<<Each time you attempt to belittle someone with whom you disagree, you discredit yourself a little further. Engaging in name calling is something most folks leave behind when they get through puberty.>> See my previous post highlighting bill's tactics.
<<BTW, my interest in VLNC wasn't piqued until you came along. I think I will short a tracking position tomorrow.>> That is what investing is all about, do your research and invest, but don't put that one on me! I am not the one who causes you to short VLNC, the losses you will suffer fall on bill. He brought me here. Good luck with your investments. |
