Interesting, Hardware revenue up 17.3% ($1.3B) to $8.6B.
And the reason why? Personal Systems revenue up 48%!! Revenue from Personal Systems segment was $3.6 Billion for the 3 months ending March 31, 1999 (UP $1.2B vs 1Q, 98).

The bad news? Pre-Tax income of the Personal Systems group still negative (-89 million) though 1Q 98 was -$458 million.
