When some REAL person gives you a written guarantee that he will, under any circumstances, exchange the bit of paper he gave you for the fiat money, which you despise, then I would say go ahead. And even then, I can't see the point of it. What the egold boys are, in fact, doing is issuing you a promissory note against your dreams. There's no guarantee.
Furthermore, to function as a bank, as they are, requires a charter and approval of some government. I don't see it. There are actually laws which govern this kind of thing. And don't, for a moment, believe they are in the US. They could even be on a yacht, somewhere.
