Bill:

Your comment concerning the gun fixation exemplifies the problem in a nut-shell. I defy you to follow your statement with a rational, non-emotional argument. Here in lies the problem with the press coverage -- don't you recognize the use of another tragic event to subtly advance several political agenda items? All conclusions concerning these issues, anti-gun sentiment being but one, are based upon false premises. Non sequiturs I believe.

The statement made by some, to the effect that kids wearing black trench coats the day following the killings is unrelated to the underlying etiology, is intellectually insulting. That behavior not only reflects defective judgment but a despicable contempt for the standards of decency -- comparable perhaps to wearing a swastika to a holocaust memorial.

Bottom line the etiology traces, not to kids that have too much responsibility, but to kids that have no responsibility for their anti-social behavior. I for one am damned sick of sympathetic explanations of criminals and their behavior. The American conditioning model is defunct and probably beyond repair.
