But the sad and scary part is that, according to my son and school officials, these young people have been dressing this way on a regular basis for some time now at his school (which is not Columbine). In other words,THE TRENCH COAT MAFIA IS NOT AN ISOLATED GROUP TO THAT PARTICULAR HIGH SCHOOL in the Denver area. Might even go state wide, or wider>> It's just a fad! It is a way "alternative" thinking kids dress these days. It has been going on for about 2 years now. After the trenchcoat fad wears out, there will be another way to dress "wierd". It is called a "gothic" look. It is so common that Saturday night live was doing skits about these "gothicly" dressed teens over a year ago. There is not a widespread trenchcoat mafia.
