ANNAPOLIS JUNCTION, Md., April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- e.spire Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: ESPI) today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, ACSI Network Technologies, Inc. (ASCI NT), will provide GST Telecommunications, Inc. with conduits and fiber along e.spire's local area network in the Houston metropolitan area. The agreement demonstrates both companies' commitments to expanding their network footprints and to reducing initial capital outlay required to enter the marketplace.
e.spire, through ASCI NT, is currently constructing a 38.5 mile local network in Houston and, under the terms of a recently signed agreement, GST will purchase multiple conduits along the route. e.spire expects to deliver the network by July 31,1999.
