Those people in Australia and Great Britain seem to be pretty happy and they have strict gun controls. The real question is: why do we want to live in the U.S. and its high violent crime rate when we could live more peacefully elsewhere (i.e. Great Britain or Australia). Sure some people think shooting ranges are fun. I like tennis, myself. But I'd give up tennis in a second if it would limit violent crimes.
