James W. is not very smart and is a liar.
Post #842 (July 24, 1997): ..."I do agree this is the rock bottom and have begun aggressively accumulating."
Followed by ..."In any event, things look like they can only get better from here and being short is most definitely not the way to go."
FWIW, Band Ore was then trading around $2.30 so draw your own conclusions people. Better yet, call the company in Toronto @ (416) 365-0811 and ask them yourselves.
Most of investing in junior companies is about investing in the people that run them. Good properties (like good luck) are integral parts of the story, but real success in the market comes from those who play straight. There are over 2000 public junior mining companies in Canada, but I couldn't name 10 I would want. Agnico-Eagle was successful because Paul Penna was no dummy. He went from boiler room operator to president of a 165,000 oz per year producer. Good properties helped, good luck helped, but the "6th-sense' made all the difference. He knew when to bet, he played straight with his investors. Now, I can name 10 companies real fast that are sure flops over the next 90-days, high flyers, large volumes, big PR/IR departments, and run by people with track records that would tell you they will take the money and run. So what is the point? Well the point is to try and find the next Agnico-Eagle when it is trading at $.30 instead of waiting until James Dines or Bob BIshop add it to their tout list.
I couldn't care less if James W. (is not very smart) hates Band Ore with every waking moment. It is one of the 5 on my list to buy because they speak straight, deal straight, and in an industry dominated by shuksters and liars that is the critical element. Will they be the next Agnico Eagle? Probably not, but if they stay the course they increase the odds in their favour and that is worth betting on.
Don't believe me because I wrote it here, call them for yourselves and decide. Do your own due diligence. And I still think James W. would be a great promoter, he really can't even tell when he is lying.
