I guess we have possibly different views on the population in general. I see most as computer illiterate and will stay that way. The idea of all retail at the net level to me is utopian and orwellian. I don't have a good fact-based response though.

If I thought the way you did, I'd be buying Amazon, shorting Borders. Instead I've done the opposite. The fact that your wife made all her purchases on the internet maybe indicates that the family and people you're exposed to are extremely into the internet. I live in Silicon Valley, am very net-cognizant, and my fiancee and I put a lot of miles on our feet this last Christmas, buying everything in retail physical stores. And it was crowded.

And I've detailed before my frustration in trying to buy a printer on the net. We're just coming from two different experiences. As most of the investment community seems to think your way, I'll stay with mine.
