Rambus works on differential signal levels I think one thing you missed on your analysis of Rambus technology is that the Rambus data transfer is carried on the voltage level and through current flow. The Rambus signal does not try to turn on and off transistors to open gates to send the information. Instead the information is encoded on what amounts to a radio signal and detected at each end. While there is pre-charging at the memory (which is aided by the multiple banks) there is almost no charge time involved in sending the data between the memory and the processor. Very few electrons are involved. TP
