I'm happy too, those May 12.5 calls I sold on PAIR for 2 3/8 are looking good to expire worthless. So I can do it all over again on the next runup. Got to make some bucks and try to get the PAIR into long term gains status at the same time. Then it can go to 30.

Ok I have no VLSI topic. How about a piece of accounting news related to mergers:

The FASB (Financial Accounting Standards Board...they make the rules) has unanimously voted to do away with the Pooling of Interest method in favor of the Purchase Method of accounting for mergers. It is expected to be put into effect in early year 2000. So one could maybe possibly expect the US companies to heat up the merger pace to beat thhis deadline once it becomes more formal.
