Hi everyone:
Again, terri, you have done a wonderful job describing the inner work of PNL's management. As some people will say "location, location, and location" in the real estate and retail businesses, "management, management, and management" is the motto for any start-up companies with a revolutionary concept.
Revolutionary??!! Well, let's see...
From an investor (who is an investment banker) terri talked to:
"He stated that what PNL is undertaking is monumentous as the international world is somewhat a close-knit community and PNL is basically taking the middleman out of the process."
Very good point! Nothing like a fresh insight from different investor of different experience...
Perhaps, many are skeptical about the ability of a local businessman trying to do an oversea transaction without going through the conventional import/export middleman. Well, what they forget to see is that many will learn and adapt when they see cost saving in the horizon. Yes, it will take time. And time is what "patience" is all about.
"Close-knit community" cannot remain close for long in the face of a new technological makeover that is changing the face of this world. Again, this "close-knit community", IMHO, is the result of the infrastructure that is based on current technology before the birth of internet. The internet allows many to bypass this close-knit group. Information, the power that bestowed only to a few in the old days, is now available for those who are motivated to seek.
Our internet future, because of its open nature, will be changing the way company competes. Infrastructure will no longer be the main setback. The playing fields are now level for most players, big or small. And the one who will win and come out at the top will be the one with the BEST MARKETING SKILL!!!
IMHO, "Marketing, marketing, and marketing" will be the motto of the 21st century to succeed in the business world.
In summary, whether we like it or not, the Internet Age is changing the face of the earth. This, to me, is a foregone conclusion... no matter how hard you kick or scream, the old ways, like the railroad, will give way to the new way, like airplane.
Giving enough time, I believe PNL's management will succeed what they have set out to do. As terri described so well about the quality of the people in the management team, we may... just maybe... have a winner in our hand.
Yeap, the above is my opinion only.
Remember everyone, To Each His Own
and
Prosperity to ALL!
