Geez, where to start? There is no T1 outside of North America, and probably precious little ATM. There are plenty of houses within 10,000 feet of a telco CO, however, which was probably your point. There are a lot houses connected to systems capable of two-way transmission in the urban areas (how much depends on who you believe), and the systems are one-way only because they were built with 1-way amplifiers. The cable itself can handle two-way communications if the amplifiers are swapped. Finally, there are tons of cable systems outside the US, most of which are better built and newer than their US counterpart.
Now lets see, if both of your arguments are false, does that change your HO? (didn't think so). IMHO, there will be lots of money made by both camps-they key is knowing when and by whom. |
