Steve, if IOM is eyeing possible acquisitions then this is probably the reason that they want the authority to issue another 400 million shares rather than any idea of a stock split or going to the market for equity financing, it would seem. How about a hostile takeover of Syquest? Now that has a ring to it! All that new high density storage technology and with Syquest on the ropes financially, who knows? As your analyst friend said, IOM really needs to expand its product line a bit and not let other companies beat them to the market with innovative products such as the new 4.7 Gig drive by Syquest. That was a real shocker alright... I am not sure about the SanDisk "candidate" that you mention as haven't researched it as yet. Can you fill us in on anything about this company? I think its quite possible that IOM is getting hungry for an acquision right about now and is just looking for the right mix to add to their current business plan. Its about time for some positive news announcements from IOM as we are all getting impatient with the movement of the stock since the run up to the mid-twenties last year... Thanks for the interesting post... Best regards, Mel Boreham
