You've got it exactly right.

It's anyones guess how Oakley will do over the next few years. On the plus side, they have done well until recently. If X-Methals are a hit, and they grow 20% to 30% over the next few years, they are clearly unervalued.

If they don't get their act together, and Nike or another competitor steals market share, they may be in for a tough time.

At least the stock has been beaten down enought to allow for substantial gains if thing go well. The stock could easily double if they show a few quarters of good growth ( and the market factors in a decent growth rate going forward).

I think a great basic book in investing is "A Random Walk Down Wall Street" by Burton Malkiel. You will learn about fundamental investing, the pitfalls of Technical Analysis and learn how the greater fool theory leads to disaster. Proponents of TA should read it also.
