What effect will shortening the goodwill amortization period have? Help me here. Profits (and taxes) will be lowered during the amortization period. Also, book value will be lower, so price-to-book will be higher, unless the price drops. Maybe the price will drop, since earnings will be lower and book value will be lower. On the other hand, maybe the market will recognize what is happening and P/E's will be higher?

Thanks,

I2
