You've GOT to know better than this! Pentium III is the planned transition from Pentium II. At any point in time, Intel will populate the low end space (Celeron) with the right price/performance offering, just as they will the mid-range and high end (Xeon). As time passes and performance needs/expectations change, so will the processors which populate each space. Segmentation is what it is all about, and Intel is doing it quite well.
