I respect your comments, but we cannot deny that PC configurations have surpassed existing UNIX workstations in price/performance/variety of components. With Intel's Profusion architecture we have a viable 8-way machine. PC configurations running NT or Linux will make signifcant headway this year into 4-8 way server markets (web,file,print,database). It just makes corporate sense to go in this direction.

I see compression in the UNIX workstation/low-end server market over the year.

Time will tell though!
