Dear Alec:

This thread has come under attack from it's inception because of it's controversial title. It really is a freedom thread not a financial thread. God realizes we all need financial support to live on this earth, in fact 60 % of the parables that Jesus taught were on the topic of money, or material possessions, or stewardship.
I pull from a past post the following:

®Did the Lord commend the unjust steward?¯

verse 13 where Jesus states that a servant cannot serve two masters. He must choose his earthly master who commends the wicked or choose his heavenly master who rewards the honest.

The lesson remains the same: "if only the Christian was as eager and ingenious in his attempt to attain goodness as the man of the world is in his attempt to attain money and comfort, he would be a much better man." (Barclay)

If this thread leads Christians to attain money and comfort as it's goal then it will in no wise enrich the lives of Christians that visit here. In Christ.gregor
