Mike, The Xilinx numbers look pretty awful to me, though I don't know what the street was expecting. Actually, it is not that they are so bad as they are so bad for a co. selling at 60 times eps. They used IBM's tax accountants and they also doubled their interest income. Still, the gain, even giving them the benefit of a big doubt on the writeoff, was pretty puny.
