IMHO Most of those stores seem to be leased and the fixtures don't look like they are worth much. Why not just sell it off and get out of that part of the business. They can move their inventory that doesn't sell to the the mega stores. Seems easy enough to do. The other alternative is to turn them into deep discount bookstores.
