NTT Cyber Develops Video Encoder for Notebook PCs 04/22/1999 Comline Computers Comline News Service (Copyright 1999) On April 15, NTT Cyber Communication Institute revealed development of the MPEG -2 Real Time Video Encoder PC Card, the world's first video encoder for mobile-oriented notebook PCs. The institute combined a proprietary MPEG -2 encoding LSI with a newly-developed PC card control LSI to successfully squeeze the size of the chip to that of a 5 mm-thick business card.
