MB, please offer your sage advice on dealing with a merger/takeover. I bought shares of Tava at around $6. This week an offer was made to buyout Tava for $8 all cash by Real Software (a Belgium company). The buyout will be completed in the summer if all goes well. Right now, Tava is trading around $7 (stock was trading around 5-6 previously). What would you do to capitalize on this development? Buy more shares now hoping to get 14% in 3-4 months? How often does an offer get "sweeten" if a significant but minority group of shareholders dissent against accepting the offer?

Right now, I am sitting tight to wait for the formal proxy statement detailing the offer. A second appraisal might be done for the company at which time Prudential's $8 figure might be deemed too low.

Thanks,

Warren
