But finding the root of the problem may be too complex, as I think there are many "roots"--not just one. Instead of trial and error, we can look at nations that have low rates of teen violence. Then we can compare and contrast what children go through in the USA vs. the more peaceful countries. Then, let's try a few things out. Whether it's stricter schools, more legal responsibility put on parents for their child's actions, etc., it will be better than trial and error because it has been tested elsewhere. Maybe our culture will end up being too different and these changes won't work, but at least it would be an educated attempt at solving some of our nation's problems.
