Well it took five months. Messages were left, emails sent, no answer. Bill says he doesn't read the thread, so that means the email from me, and from one other, and I think I know who that was, at least got him to reply and let us know he is alive.

I don't buy the "3g's in the hole for the trip". He had a free plane ticket that took him from Minneapolis to Miami and back. We paid the fare from Miami to La Paz and back, and we paid a further $853 for all his expenses down there. Bill offered the free ticket and I believe said he had holiday time. Some of the funders were willing to pay him for the free ticket, but I think that has changed now.

So how is Bill out anything? If he is complaining about lost wages, he chose to go, no one sent him.

I really don't know the whole story of his volunteering to go as I was away and never did wade through all the mail about it.

All I know is that I would have been happy with a handwritten page or two of his observations and feelings about the whole thing, and still would be.

If that had been Cima and Toma, or Cima and I that went, that report would probably have been written on a laptop on the planes from La Paz to Miami, and Miami to wherever. The pictures would have been 2 days tops once I was back here.

All IMO.
