Because your holding 5,000 shares, you'll never get filled on ISLD or ARCA, you're willing to drop (or pay up) an 1/8, but you don't want everybody and their brother knowing it. With selectnet you can go to the ENC that you've seen doing the buying (or selling, as the case me be)and deal with him without your bid or ask showing.
