Thread, in the midst of all of this excitement concerning T, UMG, RR, Comcast, TWX, ATHM, and TCOMA, no one has mentioned yesterday's agreement between T and Bell Atlantic (BEL) to use the latter's facilities for local dial tone access in NY City, a territory that is heavily dominated by TWX cable ops.
It's been suggested by some that this arrangement by T and BEL was only a ploy on T's part, designed to put fire under TWX to come to terms quickly on a deal that would allow T to use TWX's cable for voice. This chess board gets blurry, sometimes. Too difficult to accurately read all of the players, all of the time. Then again, no one ever said that Divine Law was at the root of all this. |
