When you are just south of Sudbury and heading west towards the Soo you climb a small hill that leads you to a plateau. Looking north from this vantage point you see most of the greater Sudbury basin. What captures your imagination are the many head frames that poke out of the land from east to west. In between those alters to the mining gods you see a building here, a house there, maybe a business or an open bare field. Now a head frame is like a big tree. You know that what you see on top is rivaled, even bettered by what you don't see below. The distance from head frame to another can be many k's. Today doing this drive and looking north as I made myway to the west I saw a headframe with the name NWI on it, and just south one that appeared to say DNI and west of that a couple called CYP and DML. Just north of NWI I saw a head frame called ICA. As i looked out at all of this what struck me was the great distances between sites, the built on or barren land in between and the older head frames no longer in use. I thought how the heck, looking over 900 sq Kilo's of land, did they find all this ore with 33 drill holes. What incredible luck to pick the exact spot and to hit ore with 33 drill holes. For 100 years they have been mining this area. Incredible that with so few drill holes all this sprang up. Funny that where there are now houses they didn't drill there because they would never of hit that great body of ore they have been mining. Then again maybe they did drill there too but found nothing.
Up in northern Quebec near a place called Lac Rocher the same thing is happening. Have they found ore, well they have some, have they hit the motherlode, no I don't think so, do they know where the motherlode is, I doubt it, how do you find the motherlode, well you systematically drill an area looking for clues that can can tell you that you may be on the right track, is there a motherlode, maybe / maybe not. Will there be an NR tomorrow, not likely unless their head geologist is able to finish his report for the warrant holders. Do I think now there will be a NR tomorrow, No. When I spoke to IR, 4:00 pm I asked if they were putting it together and was told no, maybe early next week. Being a feeli, touchy type of guy I asked, How does that make you feel? and was told bad, because the market is upset that news has not been coming out on a regular basis and when it does the news tends to suck. The news will continue to disappoint until they find the feeder. The feeder can only be found by more drilling. Fortunately they have lots of money to drill and more importantly the people who run NWI believe there is ore to find. |
