Based on what we were hearing at the show, Uniphase's modulator business
should be in excellent shape. It's CATV business, too, looks to be seeing
very strong sequential growth. Putting it all together, including data
products, source lasers, a small contribution from the wavelocker and fiber
bragg gratings, we think that we can add up enough products to be comfortable
with our estimate for the quarter. The 980 pump laser market does not appear
to be as crowded as the source laser market, although more are jumping into
the fray, with Alcatel and HP both introducing products, likely aimed at the
submarine market. Still, the market looks to be firmly in the hands of
Uniphase, SDL, and Lasertron. |
