Paul, you get two and a half points. You could have gotten full credit had you named the machine (Tandy 2000), and extra credit had you specified what happened to the machines when they didn't sell (massive deployment as Shack POS system). The Tandy 2000, along with OS/2 and Beta video, are my favorite examples of "superior technologies" that never made headway in the market. All three remain niche products, however (well, if you consider being turned into a cash register a niche).
