Jan,
I wasn't complaining about your strategy. Sorry if it seemed to come across that way. Just frustrated that I seem to be taking all the wrong steps with share trading ! Maybe I'll learn WITH you on "your" stocks ! <grin> It seems so easy when you do it !
<<<If you are good with options, don't change>>>
ABOV and VERT don't trade options yet, thats why I tried shares. Also sometimes I'm in a hurry and don't remember the symbols, esp if I've never traded the options on that stock before, that I just see movement and buy shares. It rarely works for me, so I don't know why I never learn ! I'm sure it will be back, but options only tie up a little capital, whereas shares - aaah - why do people trade shares ?
<<<If I have "one" Net stock position open; other than Amzn, I don't open another one>>>
Yep, thats a discipline I guess. But since all my positions are trading positions, I'm kinda used to putting out fires all the time. Today of course I was offline and tried the limit orders, but normally I track them real time, so its easier, quicker and more certain (except with Schwab, one NEVER knows when and if at all a trade will be executed - aaagh - don't get me started on that - I've just started liquidating my positions and pulling out $$s from there !).
<<I make my moves very carefully and only after the stocks I "know">>>
Well I also study the trading patterns and have been looking at ABOV and VERT for weeks now ! I caught Abov ALMOST at the bottom for today so I was pretty happy. Its just that I'm not very good at the intraday trades. The price swings in share prices make me dizzy. Options don't move as much, so when I see a $20 downward swing in stock price, which of course would never be allowed in an option trade (unless I want to land up in a poorhouse) I panic.
I guess its a different frame of reference......and being used to option trading disqualifies me from share trading....! Maybe one of these days I might even get it right ! |
