He is a friend who has undertaken a hazardous private humanitarian mission at his own expense to Macedonia, to attempt to bring assistance to children orphaned by the situation in Kosovo. I know Mr. Elgindy to be a person with a rare combination of high integrity, personal determination, and the financial means to follow through 100% on his commitments. He asked that these comments be made available as widely as possible. The International organization Save the Children, has identified 400 children throughout Macedonia that have no mother, father, relatives, family, friends, neighbors and or are too young to know or offer any information. These 400 kids are who I want to get out of here. I have agreed to pay the airfare and all financial support for these kids and am willing to fund the continuing search for these kids.
Congressman Robert Wexler's letter to the US Embassy in Macedonia was met with contempt and an attitude I could not believe. Please contact the US EMBASSY in Macedonia via Fax and phone and email, letting them know that we are all watching their arrogance and inhumanity.
The office of the Most Honorable senator Spencer Abraham has indicated that If I can get a US based relief organization here currently to draft a letter on official stationary that outlines the specific case and names and ages of the children and the need to take them out I might be able to get some of these kids.
I am optimistic and hopeful that Senator Abraham can and will do something for these kids...
I met last night with the chief of the local Mafia who guaranteed me safe passage to and back from Albania and he assured me that any kids I can locate he will make sure the Macedonian police let us back in.

Just ask for NBC and let them know that thousands are watching the progress here and are in support of bringing these kids out ....The conditions are bad -- people sleep on wooden pallets to keep from getting wet when it rains, which it does often..here. It is cold, damp, dirty, an epidemic of measles is sweeping through the camps...colds, fevers, children who have medical conditions such as epilepsy, diabetes, etc.. go uncared for...money is scarce ..and here I am ..willing to take on additional expenses and they simply won't let me. Why...why...why????
Contact Mr Rivera...he has a good heart. Contact Senator Abraham, he is a very conscientious member of the senate. Contact Senator John McCain who is urging the use of troops. Contact NBC. Contact everyone you can think of and let them know I am here and want to help. Every day we go around giving money from our pockets to these people...we give food, clothing...and when I leave, Life Relief for Development, another US based organization will replace me and also use the contacts I have made here.
I am not going to stop... so they better get used to me hounding them.
Together with all of your help and support we can bring these kids some hope and some normalcy [to their lives] and use my Company to investigate where their families are and get them out of the sewer they currently live in.
Please tell every senator, congressman, Journalist, Reporter, and children's organization that the US [government] is preventing me from offering much needed help...because of God only knows what?

Yesterday we located Anna's [a med student Anthony had slipped out of a Macedonian refugee camp the day before] second sister and 5 children...in the city of SHKODRE , Albania...about 1 days drive to here.
Austria and Canada have offered to help but I am not a citizen of either of these countries.
I watch CNN and BBC and get sick and ill when I hear about the plight of the refugees..we are very good at talking but ..I don't need rhetoric..I need permission to enter the US [for the kids] and I need unhindered access to flights out of Kosovo, Macedonia and Albania.. I need The US Embassy to act like the entity that it portrays itself to be on TV. Let them know that the Mother Teresa organization here has the best shot at helping and is the only organization supported by the Local TV Station without any compensation. It is all free endorsement and free volunteer effort.
I would also like to add that Abel [local TV photographer friend] came back safely [from the border] and the footage is horrifying. One woman -- fleeing across the river high in the mountains where there is 3 feet of snow -- dropped her baby and a Serb soldier /sniper shot at her to prevent her from saving the baby. Needless to say, the baby is dead, and I can't take anymore delays from the US GOVT...
Lets move now please for a while just a little while let us all forget ourselves and do what we need to do -- immediately! TV-ERA phone number is 011-398-91-136-553. It is a private TV station owned by one man and he is paying for all the shows himself. The station has two anchors: a Brilliant young man aged 18 and a young journalist volunteer she is 23. The editor in-chief was with BBC and they are all volunteers. As there is no income for the station since commercials are non existent 70 % of the population is unemployed he is urging everyone to please support the relief work.
They have 4 cameraman, with one who just got out of jail. But the Macecdonian police made sure to break his cameras. It is funny how all of a sudden the sign outside, that indicated where TV Era is, was destroyed yesterday by a Big Truck. People stream in and out every day to review footage that we shot at the camps to see if they recognize any of the faces.
So please help..I have to go back to a camp now so will post later....
I WANT TO STATE FOR THE ABSOLUTE RECORD , I HAVE NOT MET ONE SINGLE REFUGEE THAT BLAMES THE USA. OR NATO FOR THEIR FLIGHT. THEY ALL SAY THE SAME THING: IT IS THE SERB,POLICE, PARAMILITARY, ARMY, TROOPS AND DEATH SQUADS, THAT ARE CAUSING THEM TO RUN FOR THEIR LIVES..

Simply because Americans are more photogenic, have bright smiles and are well groomed, there is some bizarre perception that we are more valuable than other people from other lands -- and if they are brown or yellow or have bad teeth, they are even worth less.. wake up please!... WE ALL CAME FROM DUST AND WILL RETURN TO DUST.
