Rachel, There seems to be a bit of pessimism here. I think one has to realize that CUBE is a leader in many respects in this line of chip. The only real competition i see is STB systems. I don't know if anyone has mentioned it here, but they introduced their products at Comdex. Currently Gateway is using STB cards in their computers, so if STB would get in gear and start selling their DVD, CUBE would not make it. I don't see that happening though. Also STB's product only does 3 functions while CUBE does 6. And the sound quality is not as good. But, how many of you out there would like to watch movies on your computer. I know I would. VCR's are a hastle in my opinion. But the thing also is, what is the pratical use. Let's look at it. How do people get movies now. They rent them. You can't rent a DVD. That would be absurd. So how would they be able to sell the product. Who would use it. The only way would be to couple the thing with like ten movies, and a discount on like your next ten DVD disk purchases. So in a way their can be due pessimism here. feraldo
