To Anyone: How many of you have spent time on Alta Vista? I used it quite a bit when doing research for cancer cures this past fall/winter. It is of a more academic make-up than Yahoo (the people's engine). It seems to me they are going to have to do alot of changing to Alta Vista to appeal to the masses. Isn't that how advertisers decide which engine they will place their money in? My point is this AV is not for shoppers, stock freaks, travelers, etc.. Even the name "Alta Vista" reminds me of a retirement home or some remote mountain top for monks. If CPQ is not listening to the shareholders then how on earth will they know what appeals to the public? It just doesn't have the attraction that Yahoo has. They have alot of work ahead of them to change the image of AV and it sounds as if they are too bogged down to hear what people want. There is certainly nothing wrong with academic information but we want millions going to this engine. It will have to be like this for this stock to soar. BTW, if I am not given shares or an opportunity to purchase before it hits the market then I shall be asking how do you join one of these classaction suits. Thank you for your time. Yankee Trader
