I think you have the wrong take on this. I do not see it as a hostile act toward Comcast or a throwing down of the gauntlet by "T". Armstrong can see what UMG is worth to "T" and how it fits into "T"'s broadband strategies. IMO, This will pay off in the long run for "T" as long as our dirty rotten, pinko, liberal, commie government keeps it's hands off. I wrote that it in case Ahhaha was lurking. I hope that he will now look down with favor on me from on high and come back to the ATHM thread. Can he take a joke? <:}

There is good reason to believe that "T" wants to be a good partner with Comcast and any other cable operators it does not own. Microsoft ownership in Comcast is a wildcard but I doubt if MSFT would want to piss off "T" by pressuring Comcast to do anything against "T". What does Comcast get out of the deal by switching to RR? Answer, nothing, zip point squat. They stand to loose a profitable investment in ATHM. At this point in time MSFT probably just wants to control software or have a piece of the software action in settop boxes. If MSFT wants to play in the game the last thing they need to do is piss off the biggest baddest dude in the game and as of today that dude is "T".
