I always test on a broad list. I use it mainly in trending stocks for short term sells. The buys come from the bounce and return off of 0 if it occurs. I picture only 1-3 days average above 200.

Can divergences help, it might. But as you look at all the candidates, you want scans that pulls out those meeting a certain criteria, you hope the number can be managed. When you are dealing with +10,000 stocks, you want it to be quick and productive.You might look and notice but it is not big determinant.
